Hot Springs in the Sawtooth Mountains

An hour north of Ketchum is a small town called Stanley. It is famous for some of the most epic, razor sharp peaks of the Sawtooth Mountains. There’s a sweet, little hotel there where they’ve transformed natural hot springs into a hot tub with sweeping views of these peaks.

Music Festival: Sawtooth Valley Gathering

Stanley Idaho hosts a music festival every year — this year is Jul 28-31! The backdrop is incredible - some of the highest peaks in the Sawtooths. If you stay a day or two after the wedding, we highly recommend checking it out:

Outdoor Ice Skating Shows

Sun Valley offers amazing ice skating shows year-round on their outdoor rink (also one of the locations in our Save The Date video). They often have skaters visit for shows, including Olympic Gold Medalist, Nathan Chen, who will be performing this summer. If you’re looking for something cool on a hot night, check this out!

Mountain Biking

The Sun Valley area has tons of mountain biking options for all levels. We highly recommend Adam’s Gulch for a beginner-intermediate route, and if you’re feeling up for it you can even tackle Bald Mountain itself. Check out the offerings from Sun Valley Co:

Coffee: Bowl of Soul

No trip to Sun Valley is complete without stopping here for their famous Bowl of Soul. It’s a great place to hang for a long while and let the world slow down. Chat some locals up about skiing and have a pastry, too! This is the coffee place to go to.

Be sure to stop in and fill up.

Dining

Here are some of our favorite restaurants:

- Enoteca: Italian with a modern American twist in an upscale atmosphere. Also known for killer flatbread. This wonderful restaurant is a favorite, and is one of the first places Arielle ever worked. Enoteca also happens to be where Tyler asked Arielle’s folks for their blessing to marry her. Reservations are a must.

- Perry’s: Classic, casual American fare in this wonderful family owned restaurant (a Mulenos/Pere Family fave). Generous servings — we recommend the pastrami sandwich!

- Sushi on second, or Zou75. Greats sushi in Idaho?! Yup! Sushi on Second is excellent, but if you’re in the mood for KILLER sushi, drive 15 min south to Hailey to check out Zou 75.

- Johnny G’s Subs: Looking for a killer, giant sando with the locals and a chill vibe? This is the spot for you.  Local ski and snow board legends are regulars. Never know who you’ll run into.

WrapCity: Great local spot for a tasty wrap. We recommend the Chinese Tofu wrap with Sriracha added in. This was Arielle’s go-to spot to fill-up after ski practice as a kid!

Night Life

- Tasty drinks, and  good bar food with a modern meets rustic vibe finished with a slick fireplace: Warfield

- Tequila flights, tacos and guacamole in a trendy atmosphere: Barrio75

- Cheap drinks and no frills in the classic Ketchum Dive bar—a must stop! The Pioneer

- Next on the locals’ dive bar, nightly crawl is this favorite, Whiskey Jacques'. Come for the whiskey, stay for the dancing.

- Last, but certainly not least in the hat trick of dive bars is The Casino. It’s a legend in its own right, with a long history of fun nights and above average drinks. 220 N Main St, Ketchum, ID 83340

- The Duchin Lounge. If you’re looking for that classic, old-school Sun Valley ski lodge experience where the likes of Eastwood, Arnie, and Hanks have likely thrown back a few, this is the place to go. Great drinks and fun apps. Located in the Sun Valley Lodge. The bowling alley is below, solid combo of activities.
